Project - Stena Transporter – 300m2

Killingholme – Hoek Of Holland - Transit February 2019

Bimagrip LS Anti-slip and Waterproofing System
Acraprime & Emery Bauxite

BRIEF
Blasting over a chevron or ribbed deck is normally of great concern with safety to the marine world because of open blasting works, therefore it's normally needed to be completed in Dry docking operations without the problems of cargo and pedestrian safety. JMS Lincoln were chosen for this as one of the very few specialists able to complete this kind of project in the timeframe available.

PROJECT
This is not always possible with current sailing schedules and costs of dry-docking works, but unique processes, plant and careful planning of projects are what make JMS such a good choice, with our turn-key in house service and ability to adapt and overcome conditions. Using our mounted 24-5D blast truck we can perform these tasks in transit or short lay-over with its effective ability to captive blast ribbed/chevron decks.

The project was scheduled during its normal cargo operations between Killingholme and Hoek of Holland, meaning no disruption to normal service and continuity of operations for the vessel operator whilst the weather deck ramp was unloaded and loaded every day.

Outcome

The whole project was completed successfully in-between disembarkation of cargo of the vessel, with the ramp having traffic management only made possible and adhered to by constant communication and synergy between the client, Stevedores and operators.
The ramp remained operational throughout with the speed of preparation and application by JMS being the factor in a successful project.
