JMS revitalise two entire car decks whilst the vessel remains operational.

Our client approached JMS with the intention of coating there decks, with no scheduled dry docking in the immediate future taking the vessel out of service, JMS had to get creative and keep the vessel operational. The condition of the decks deemed these works a priority. The requirement; to prevent damage and protect the steel from further corrosion. 

Work Brief:
The vessel schedule meant it had a 36 hour lay over every weekend resulting in a free period for the works to commence. Although restricted somewhat by the curing time of paints, It was agreed that the only way to counter this would be two cordon off a section of the deck each visit during typically lower seasonal cargo traffic trends. This meant the vessel remained operational with only one section of the deck out of service until full cure 4 days later. 

It was agreed 1400sqm was to be completed per visit with our works having to be finished before loading commences again for service, this meant we had 30 hours to work including curing times of the paint primer overnight. The rapid output of our surface preparation coupled with the experienced installation team meant the targets could be achieved in such a short time frame.  

The large-scale refurbishment across the two decks resulted in zero downtime for the owner with all works completed within it's allotment of time.
